\nMoments\u2026 There have been many \u201cMagical moments\u201d on stage for me, a big one was in 2005 when I walked on to the stage at a packed Ulster Hall in Belfast, stood on the spot where Rory stood, opened my mouth to speak to the audience and nothing came out, I was completely overcome by emotion! Sinnerboys\u2019 first tour of Greece was truly magical \u20132008 and the first gig was at \u2018Rodeo\u2019 club in Athens. I had no idea if the greek people would come to see us \u2013 I had no need to worry! Tonight (12\/12) is going to be one of the most magical experiences yet, thirty years ago I would stand in the Apollo in Manchester, idolizing the musicians on stage, tonight I will be playing with Brendan O\u2019Neill!!
\n– Which is the main reason that Rory Gallagher’s music remains so vivid and up to date, nowadays?
\nRory\u2019s music\u2026 The honesty and \u201cdown to earth\u201d aspect of Rory\u2019s music keeps him as relevant as ever. I have always been a fan of Hendrix, but could never understand where he was coming from, Jimi\u2019s music was from up in the stratosphere somewhere whereas Rory\u2019s was from the same bones as me. I could understand his playing, he never followed musical trends, so how can his music date? I believe he did that on purpose, so his music will always stay fresh. He went from strength to strength in his albums. \u201cFresh Evidence\u201d is a masterpiece of guitar sounds.
\n– Your beloved tracks from the area of rock, blues etc. Considering Rory, can you pick one song, that, after so many years, makes you still “shiver”? From the present musical industry, is there a band or an artist, that could be really influential for the musicians “to come”?
\n\u201cI Fall Apart\u201d. Still moves me and I\u2019ve probably played it more times than Rory!!! I think the music scene has stagnated in recent years, yes there is great music being made but i don\u2019t see anything iconic enough to be another Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin or Rory.
\n– Thousands of audience has passed in front of you. Is there a concert, which really surprised you and stands out, due to its power and intensity?
\nYes, every Kyttaro gig. I really do love this place that much! And also Thessaloniki 2008, one thousand people turned out to see us. I do not say these gigs are the best because I am in Greece, these are the gigs that Sinnerboy always talk about as the most amazing \u2013 the crowds are the best anywhere!
\n– Speaking of fans, what is your opinion about greek rockers, the musicians and the people, who fill the arenas? Exarhia is an historical area in the center of Athens, which is timeless considered rock and revolutionary. Where you come from or from the places you have visited, can you name an area, which has similar “identity”?
\nExarhia\u2026 Oh I always cite the greek people as my favorite on earth (actually i think other countries get sick of me saying it, but I love Greece!). As far as Exarhia is concerned, the reason i love it here so much is that it reminds me of my hometown of Manchester, where i used to see Rory play countless times, it has the same vibe and undercurrent.

\nI have never looked forward to a gig so much in all my life! (Really!)
\n– We live strange and often difficult political and social moments, not only in Greece, but also in Europe and worldwide. Through your eyes and ears, how would you describe the present reality. Is there a song that defines perfectly our time?
\nMusic is solace, music is our healer, music can take us out of bad times, music lifts us when we are down, calms us when we are uptight, excites us when we are bored, of all the fascinating things relating to the human soul, music is the most phenomenal, as long as i have my music i will never be truly repressed, but a single song that reflects the times? I guess i will have to write one!!!
\n-A long career with many exciting “stations” so far… Are there any specific future plans on your cultural “journey”?

\n– The most “crazy” or funny memories you have, things that cheer you up and make your day.
\nWhen we played the Ulster Hall in Belfast, Dave Burns (Bass) kicked a glass of beer over on the stage. We didn\u2019t think anything about it until i was in the middle of the slide guitar solo in \u201cCrest of a Wave\u201d, when the audience started laughing. \u0399 thought, is my playing THAT bad? But then i turned round to see a man in a workman suit with a mop and a bucket mopping up the beer as if we weren\u2019t there \u2013 it was hilarious!!!
\n– If it were possible to have now a conversation with Rory, what would that be? Which would be the message, that you would give to him, about the world and music in general?
\nWell, the first conversation would probably be Rory telling me about all the things I do wrong with his music! But I would tell him how much I miss him, and his music, and get him to show me what he was writing now. \u0399 know it would be even more wonderful than ever!
